Metamorphosis II: Like to a Silver Bow, New-Bent in Heaven
This prize-winning quilt was created to honor the New England Quilt Museum's Silver Jubilee. My inspiration was a line in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream:
And then the moon, like to a silver bow
New-bent in heaven, shall behold the night
Of our solemnities.
As the viewer moves from left to right, the silver, crescent, new moon metamorphoses into a traditional quilt star block, symbolic of the New England Quilt Museum.
