Transit of Venus (Chuppah)

I met my husband in 2004 as a result of the Transit of Venus, a rare astronomical alignment of the Earth, Venus, and the Sun. He proposed during the next Transit of Venus in 2012. We were married in an observatory.

Our Jewish wedding canopy—or Chuppah—shows Venus in transit across the Sun. The birds on the Tree of Life represent my husband and me; those underneath are my two daughters and his two sons.
