A call for “Art Quilts to Dye For” for a show at the Brush Gallery in Lowell, MA brought to mind the homophone “to die for” and images of skeletons. The articulated skeletal swan was copied from an etching made in 1610 of the Anatomy Theatre at the University of Leiden. The swan is having a colorful afterlife complete with bony fish to snack on.
